Our Roots: Skinner Transportation Since 1992

Family-Owned. Driven to Deliver. Hauling Trust.

Moving more than materials

Since 1992, Skinner Transportation has been moving more than materials. We’ve built our reputation on keeping promises and forming lasting relationships one load, one mile, and one handshake at a time.

What began as a family-owned transportation company has grown into a trusted bulk transportation partner for paving, infrastructure, industrial, chemical, and commercial sectors across the United States. Even as our fleet and service area have grown, our way of doing business has stayed true to our roots.

We believe in hard work and honest communication. We believe safety is not a slogan—it is a responsibility, and dependable service means following through on every commitment.

Today, Skinner Transportation continues to serve customers with the steady commitment that built our name: reliable equipment, responsive support, experienced people, and a family-owned pledge to get the job done right. Our name is on the side of the trucks, and we’re committed to honoring it.

Steve Skinner — Our Founder & Visionary

Steve Skinner, founder of Skinner Transportation, Inc.
Steve Skinner · Founder, 1992

Steve Skinner’s love for transportation began long before the company existed — it started in high school, where a passion was ignited that would shape an entire industry legacy. In 1992, Steve turned that passion into purpose, founding Skinner Transportation, Inc. with a simple commitment: deliver high-quality transportation with integrity and excellence.

Through his dedication to superior customer service and meaningful client partnerships, Steve built more than a business — he built a culture of trust, safety, and pride. Under his leadership, Skinner Transportation grew from a two-truck operation into a thriving regional carrier, a testament to his vision and values.

Steve is no longer with us, but his spirit lives on in every mile driven and every member of the Skinner Transportation family he helped shape. He was not just our founder — he was our foundation.

The Skinner Standard

We don’t just haul. We move with purpose.

At Skinner Transportation, we measure ourselves against one standard: doing the job right, every time, no exceptions. That means dependable equipment, experienced drivers, and a safety-first mindset that never takes a day off.

We are family-owned, and our name is on the side of every truck we run. That is not a marketing line—it’s why we hold ourselves accountable to something higher than a single job.

We are committed to

  • Building relationships that outlast any single job.
  • Standing behind our drivers and our people.
  • Running safe, reliable operations, always.
  • Showing up when it counts.
  • Growing without sacrificing our roots.

The Roads Demand Respect. And We Give It Every Single Day.

At Skinner Transportation, we have spent more than three decades on Texas roads. We know what the road asks of a driver, a truck, and a company: preparation, discipline, and the kind of respect that does not waver when schedules get tight or weather turns bad.

That is why safety is not a policy we revisit once a year. It is the standard we operate by every day—built into how we hire, train, maintain our fleet, and hold every person accountable.

Because the road does not forgive shortcuts. And neither do we.

How We Show Up Safe

Experienced, Trained Drivers

The road demands skill. We select and train professionals who understand that safe operation is not optional—it is the job.

Fleet Maintained to Perform

A well-kept truck is a safe truck. Our equipment is regularly inspected and held to high standards before it ever leaves the yard.

Compliance Without Compromise

We operate in full compliance with federal and state regulations—not because we have to, but because cutting corners on compliance means cutting corners on safety.

A Culture That Takes It Seriously

Safety at Skinner is not enforced by a poster on the wall. It is a shared value among our drivers, dispatchers, and leadership.

Accountability at Every Level

Our name is on the side of every truck we run. Every person on our team carries the responsibility of representing the Skinner Standard—on the road and off it.

Always Improving

Roads change and best practices advance. We stay current because complacency has no place in a safety-first operation.

The Pledge Behind the Standard

We are a family-owned company. Our drivers are not just employees—they are the family members who carry our name and reputation down every road they travel.

We send them out every day with one expectation above all others: get the job done and come home safe.

That pledge is why we invest in training, maintain our equipment, and never treat safety as a line item to be managed. It is the foundation and the promise behind why the Skinner name has meant something in Texas transportation for over thirty years.

The road demands respect. We built this company on giving that respect.
